Is This You?

  • Do you find dozens of things that “really need to be done” before you can take time to write?
  • Do you want to discover and access your muse?
  • Do you sit down to write only to hear an inner voice say, “What makes you think you can write?” A voice loud enough and even mean enough that you’d rather not think about writing much less pick up a pen?
  • Are you experiencing a gargantuan case of writer’s block?
  • Does writing feel like turning your skin inside out, like somebody just dissolved your clothes off you and you are standing before the world naked, body and soul exposed? And yet you still want to write?
  • Do you vacillate between having windows of inspiration and then asking yourself: “Who am I to think I have something to say?”

If you can answer yes to any of these questions, you’ve come to the right place and I can assure you that you are not alone. In fact, you might be surprised how many others out there, including me, say “yes” to these questions.

You might also be familiar with that stiller, smaller voice that quietly whispers, yes you do have something to say, something important.

This is the voice you want to listen to and that “something important” is just waiting for you to let it out, to let it breathe.

Are you curious…

  • What it would feel like to embrace the writing process—inner critique, writer’s block, perfectionism, and all?
  • What your writing experience would be like without the fear of judgment?
  • What it would feel like to trust the wisdom of each and every word you put down on paper?
  • What you might write if your mind would quiet down and just let your creative juices flow?

Do you value…

  • Learning and Personal Growth: You want to write for the opportunity to see where your words and ideas take you. To learn new things about writing, life, and yourself.
  • Nourishment over Punishment: You recognize that things don’t grow if they aren’t nourished. That pruning something too soon can destroy it.
  • Creative Expression: Ultimately, you want to create for the sake of creating.
  • Intuition: You want to and are willing to trust the process, to trust your inherent creativity, to trust yourself.
