Books that will change how you experience writing…and yourself
Have you bought every “how to” book on writing there is, only to watch them collect dust on your bookshelf and then feel bad about not ever reading them? I recommend you spend more time writing than reading about writing, so if these books are going to get in the way of your putting pen to paper then stop reading now and go write something, anything.
The following is a list of books that have shaped my writing voice and reminded me to breathe through and embrace the process.
All of these links go to Powells.com, the largest independent bookstore in the US. You will find new and used copies available. Note: If you buy any of the books below via the links provided, I receive 7% of the sale (about $0.25). I encourage you to read them any way you can; borrow them from your local library, find them at your local used book store, see if a fellow writer has them.
