Writing/Creativity Coaching Sessions
Tired of wanting to write and not wanting to write at the same time?
Writing, possibly more than any other creative exercise, exposes. Even writing fiction leaves part of you on the page. When we write, we offer ourselves, our personalities, our minds, our souls to the world; we become vulnerable.
If being vulnerable to others or to your own protective voices challenges you, creativity/writing coaching can help you navigate through that vulnerability and as a result feel more alive, whole, more free.
Writing has inherent risks and if you aren’t taking those risks, if you are trapped in self-protection and fear, you are protecting yourself from your art, your genius, from yourself.
Writing is a relationship
If you’ve ever felt the vulnerability and emotional intimacy of being in a relationship, you probably know what I’m talking about. To write is to be in relationship with yourself, your subconscious, your intuition, life around you, with the divine.
In relationship, we can uncover layers of ourselves that we didn’t even know existed.
Relationships require safety
Without that safety, we spend more time squirming, running, and protecting than we do sharing, learning, and feeling connected.
I’m here to help you create safety for yourself so you can take those risks and enjoy the process of tapping into the rest of you, of allowing for creative expansion and new awareness. The safer you feel, the deeper you’ll go, the more powerful your writing.
How does a one-on-one writing/creativity session?
First, we connect. We discuss where you’ve been, where you are, and where you want to go. We’ll explore things like:
- Your writing life
- Your fears
- Your hopes
- Your goals
How many times do we need to “meet”?
It depends. I recommend we start with one session to begin with and if you feel excited about the possibilities you’ve created for yourself out of that session, we can revisit our commitment to each other.
Included in a personal session:
- A 60 minute session
- A strength-based written review of some of your writing (voluntary) up to 700 words.
- Two follow-up emails for support and additional encouragement
Are you ready?
